অর্থমন্ত্রী এএইচ মাহমুদ আলী সম্প্রতি মন্ত্রিসভায় ৭,৯৭,০০০ কোটি টাকার ৫৩তম জাতীয় বাজেট প্রস্তাব করেছেন, যেখানে বিদ্যুৎ ও জ্বালানি খাত মোট বাজেটের মাত্র ৩.৮ শতাংশ বরাদ্দ পেয়েছে। ২০২৩-২৪ অর্থবছরে একই খাতের বাজেট বরাদ্দ ছিল ৪.৬ শতাংশ, সে তুলনায় আসন্ন ২০২৪-২৫ অর্থবছরের বরাদ্দে উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে ১২.৯ শতাংশ হ্রাস হয়েছে
